MSNBC vs. Fox Gnus

I’ve been watching Countdown recently on MSNBC.COM.  There’s something about it that I really enjoy.  I think it’s because it’s Fox Gnus for liberals.  Still, I find them amusing.  Kinda like my new Fox Gnus picture.  It’s a fairly popular joke about fox, but I couldn’t find a picture for it, so I made my own.  I also like Faux News, but that didn’t quite fit with the cute animals look I wanted.  That being said, now I need to find some image for MSNBC.  I’m trying to decide between the following two:

I’m kinda thinking the one on the left, it’s a bit more subtle.  If you have any thoughts let me know.  Or show me a better silly picture for MSNBC.

Leak of Hillary Clinton’s Speech Tomorrow

Below is a leak of Hillary Clinton’s speech Tomorrow:

This has been, by all accounts, an historic race.  We have set a new bar for future primaries.  My opponent has been a strong contender, and has done more than any of us could have imagined.  Thank you for the oportunity to compete agants you.  However.  All good things must come to an end, and so must our rivalry.  It is time for the Democratic party to come together and heal old wounds.  It is time for the Democratic party to present a united front against the Republican war machine.   It is time for all right thinking people to stand up for their rights, and the rights of others.  It’s time for everyone to unite under the Democratic banner and take this to the White House its self.

John McCain has shown himself to be opposed to the core things that all right thinking people desire: health, a strong economy, and peace.  He has shown that a McCain White House would be identical to a Bush White House, and that’s not what we want in a president.

It is my belief, then, that both Sen. Obama and I must come together to fight against McCain’s vision of 8 more years of the same.  Therefore I would like to take this time to respectfuly and graciously ask for Sen. Obama to step out of the race.

These six months of primaries have shown one thing: nothing has changed.  In December I was believed to be the strongest candidate.  I am still the strongest candidate.  Nothing has changed.  You might see the numbers stacked against me, but know this: I am the only Democratic candidate who can win in November.  Primary results mean nothing.  What matters is experience, and I have that.

Thank you, and I look forward to having Sen. Obama as my Vice President.

Yes, the above was a joke.  I hope you enjoyed it.

Rick on American Politics

Just an amusing observation from Rick Mercer about the US Elections made just before “Super Tuesday”.

Here we are, we think of ourselves as this progressive, diverse nation and yet there’s big bad backwards America and who’s running for the big job? A woman, a black man, a Libertarian, a Mormon with big hair, and some dude who was in a bamboo cage in Vietnam for five-and-a-half years. Meanwhile in Canada, we’re gearing up for yet another race between a pudgy white guy and a skinny white guy and some other white guy.

Well done Rick.

Didn’t we invade Iraq for this sort of thing?

I couldn’t say it any better than this comic:

Amusing to me

I found this very funny, as I just finished a class on grammar (not that I put it in to practice much).  It’s from here.  Enjoy.

Texan: Where are you from?
Harvard grad: I come from a place where we do not end our sentences with prepositions.
Texan: Okay, where are you from, jackass?

Words no longer accepted from politicians

I was watching cpac today And decided that the following words and phrases will no longer be acceptable for use by politicians.

Terrist: The word is Terrorist, with the emphasis on terror, as in implying that their objective is to create terror.  If you are mispronouncing it because you can not enunciate correctly, please get training.  If you are pronouncing it that way because a certain American tends to, then you go in the same group as those who use the word nuklear.  The beatings will begin shortly.

Support the troops: We get it.  You support the troops.  Just because someone else doesn’t support you, doesn’t mean they don’t support the troops.  Trying to keep them out of harms way is not opposing the troops any more than having them do their jobs is.  Now all three important parties (CPC, Lib, NDP) can stop throwing that phrase at each other.  Supporting the troops should not be the end all be all of policy decisions.  Supporting the country is.  The troops are part of that.

When will (insert name) ask (insert name) to resign: When he or she darn well pleases.  That’s why they’re the leader of the party.  Also, calling for the resignation of someone because he or she doesn’t have a ten page proposal dealing with something that happened less than twenty-four hours ago seems stupid to me.  But maybe I’m unique in my wish for politicians to have the facts before they react.  I say that politicians get forty-eight hours minimum to react to something before their resignation is called for.

Taliban buddy: Just because someone thinks that allegations of torture need looking into doesn’t mean that they support the Taliban.  If you think that sounds like a strange statement, read the news it’s actually happening.

One final note, just because you can’t be sued for insults thrown across the Parliament floor doesn’t mean you should take that as licence to use insults with reckless abandon.  Come on people, we’re all adults here.

Enjoy.

Colbert

Colbert was one of the speakers at a 2006 White House dinner.  I didn’t know you could make that kind of joke less than a yard away from the president.  Do your self a favor, go watch it.

On another note.  I haven’t posted for a while.  I’ll do that once I have more time.  Enjoy.
